Encouragement For Your Weekend {#3}

Have five minutes to spare? Here's some encouragement for your weekend.

weekly encouragement for your heart, soul and marriage - Nicki Schroeder, Showered In Grace.

Encouragement For Your Heart

This weekend, I'm taking a break from the normal blog link to share with you a song "Drifter," written by a young man who loves the Lord and is boldly using the talents that God has gifted him with to follow his dreams.

A very talented young man from my church is part of a songwriting competition that's wrapping up this weekend. Out of 5,000 people, he is ranked somewhere around #50 or #60 right now. Go listen to this cool young man of God sing his heart out. It's four minutes of your time well spent. Listen to "Drifter" and then 'vote' for David if you'd like, by using the 'share' button located above his music video to post to Facebook, Twitter, etc.

What talents has God given you? What are you passionate about? Be bold and take the next step to being all that God created you to be!

Encouragement For Your Soul

Did you ever just feel like you need to "Take A Social Media Sabbath" because you feel like the joy has been zapped out of you? I love taking social media breaks. They are good for the soul.

"When my daughter is feeling extra cranky we go through a series of questions to try to figure out what’s wrong. Is she tired? Hungry? Needing a change of scenery? Usually the answer is “yes” to at least one, if not more, of those options – and then we know how to fix things. Get a snack, take a nap, go for a walk. I’ve started to realize that, when I’m flipping through social media screens on my phone or bouncing between tabs on my computer and I’m extra cranky, I need to ask myself some questions, too."

Crystal gives us some food for thought on whether it's time to unplug for a bit.

Encouragement For Your Marriage

What a great post on how "Romeo & Juliet Got It Wrong."

Rhiannon Skeen (don't you adore her name?) is a fellow encourager who wrote a fun post honoring her grandparents and how they did marriage "right." She paints such a wonderful picture of what Godly marriage looks like lived out in the real world. If you are feeling deflated lately that your Romeo isn't really there for you, go grab a quick dose of reality and humor from Rhiannon to get you back on track!
